21st Oct '06 v Bala (A)

16 members of Colwyn Bay Youth finally travelled away to Bala. Missing a number of key players due to injury and holidays they seemed to be fighting a losing battle from kick-off. Bala did not appear to be much the better side as the score suggests, but their commitment and play, especially around the loose ball, proved too much for Colwyn Bay.
 

2nd Sept '06 v Llangefni (A)

Unable to field a team last season Colwyn Bay Youth have bounced back with a win on their first game this year. A mainly young but enthusiastic team played in wet and windy conditions at Llangefni to win 12 points to 7. Neither side had scored by half time Bay had managed to defend their line against strong opposition and a strong wind. In the second half with the wind in their favour 2 tries were soon scored. The first by fullback Rory Jones which was converted by Steve Thatcher. The second by Jonathon Bastow, normally a front or second row player, playing on the wing. Unfortunately a lack of concentration and fitness allowed Llangefni over the try line, but Bay held on to gain their first victory.
