BAY 2NDS FOLD AGAINST NANT’S SUPERIOR SKILLS Colwyn Bay 2nds 0 Nant Conwy 2nds 27 Without a league fixture last Saturday for either side, the visitors to Brookfield Drive for a friendly were a well drilled Nant side who ran out easy victors in a five tries (one converted) to none drubbing of the Bay side who fell away after a promising start. The Bay lads entered the fray at the start charged up and passionate only to be delayed for seven minutes while a potentially dangerous rabbit scrape on the pitch was repaired. This frustration however did not cool the Bay ardour as they held the strong visiting side to nil all at the half hour point. If two penalty chances had been taken, they would have enjoyed a deserved early lead. Superior Nant execution in both defence and attack however saw them cross the Bay line twice in the ten minutes before half time. The Nant team pulled away in the second half scoring three more tries against a tiring and increasingly disjointed Bay side whose hefty forwards and pacey backs failed to gel and so could find no answer to Nant’s better all round fitness and organisation despite the best efforts of Bay No 8, skipper and man of the match Ritchie Evans. |
