All players must be registered with CBRFC and the WRU before playing games this season. Each player must also fill out a consent form and a membership form available from Team managers.

Junior Membership – is £25 and family membership is £50, which is valid for 2 adults and all children under 16.

Boys and girls from age under 6 to 12 can play rugby together and are grouped according to age. Age on The first of September, in whole years, plus one decide a child’s group. This Year we are running teams in U7 Tag, U9 Tag, U10 Tackle, U12, U14, and U16 .New for this Season we welcome the formation of a U14 & U17 girls team. We believe that creating a strong sense of team and club spirit is very important. These kids are the future of CBRFC.

The WRU Pathway is a well thought out programme that starts children playing Tag Rugby. This is a fun, non-contact version of rugby that helps children develop running and catching skills and beginning to understand the importance of working together as a team. Gradually, as children grow and develop, more skills, contact and other aspects of the game are introduced so that by the age of 12, children are playing a version of rugby that is much closer to the adult game. Copies of the WRU Pathway are available from the club.

At the start of the season, jerseys, shorts, socks and boots should be fine. In the colder weather children are still proud to wear their Club jerseys, but make sure they have sufficient clothing underneath or a training top (available from The Club Shop) and track suit bottoms.

Players should always wear appropriate footwear. Soccer boots are OK, but make sure the studs are aluminium, and the approved WRU kite-marked type. Insist on the correct studs from your retailer!

The Club recommends that players in all age groups wear gum shields and shin guards. Gum shields tailor-made by your dentist are ideal. However, sports shops sell DIY versions that you soften by heating in boiling water and then mould around the teeth - every player should have one.

Children playing full contact Rugby should also be encouraged to consider protective headgear and lightweight chest and shoulder protection.

The Club Shop is well-stocked with the Club kit of blue socks, shorts, jerseys, club ties and jackets for sale at reasonable prices. There is also a selection of second-hand kit, including boots.

The season runs from September through the winter, to late April. Rugby takes place on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings (for U10's Tackle, U11/12's & Girls Team) - 6.45pm throughout the season. Wednesday evenings for U13/14's & U15/16's - 6.45pm. We usually meet at the clubhouse at Brookfield Drive but sometimes use the Astroturf at Rydal School. We have coaching sessions, play fixtures against other local clubs, take part in rugby festivals and undertake an annual tour.

For Sunday coaching sessions, we meet, at about 10.30am. Coaching starts promptly on the field at 11am and finishes around 12.30pm.

For home fixtures, we meet at the clubhouse at 10am. For away games, we need to travel, so we meet at 9am or as directed by your teams manager, Please try to help with transport if you can.

Colwyn Bay RFC Junior Section has a thriving supporter base and we encourage parental support as Coaches are not usually able to provide individual care in the case of upset or injury.

Sunday training and home matches provide an opportunity to enjoy a (real) coffee and bacon butty with the papers in the Clubhouse.

If neither parent can remain, arrangements should be made for a responsible adult (family friend or neighbour) to keep an eye on them, and the child told who is looking after them.
