Tour Meeting Agenda..........

Any small and outstanding  residual payments for the tour are to be paid on Sunday at Rhyl or on Tuesday at the parents meeting on Tuesday at 19.00 in a sealed envelope with your players name on it

Some parents are asking for an idea of what the finances they will need to provide for the trip and this will be explained a the meeting on the Tuesday 15th March 2011 at 19.00 hours which one parent/guardian  must attend. As you know the boys best please note the following aspects of the programme where funds will be needed and you can determine your own limits .:

 1.       There is  no upper limit they can bring with  them  they can bring their own money but they have to be accountable for it at all times. The coaches/team management will not look after or replenish funds. Breakfasts is provided everyday

2.   On the Friday the 18th March  the boys will be taking with them a light packed lunch and a packed evening meal (this and other food provisions that we will be taken will be explained later). They may however wish to buy something on the Boat between Dover and Calais (Sterling on Euros will suffice) and we will stop once on  the French Services on route to Paris where they wish to buy something. Suggest allowing 15 Euros for the services if necessary.

3.   On the Saturday 19th March we are going to the Eiffel Tower in the morning. Suggest allowing 12 Euros for “light elevenses” post Eiffel trip bite to eat. Food will be provided by the Rugby Olympique Yerrois  Paris after our game 15.00 hours.

4.   When we attend the game France v Wales the boys will want to buy something a the ground. Suggest 15 Euros .

5.   On Sunday 20th March 2011 we are planning to go to a water park early morning. This is not included in the price and the cost is about 20 Euros. For those who do not want to go swimming sightseeing may be arranged. Post match hospitality will be provided after our game at RC Bagnolet Paris at 16.00 hours.

6.   On the Sunday evening as with previous tours we are having a sit down team dinner either in our hotel or at a local cafe. The cost of this  dinner will be 20 Euros and to pay for this you will need to bring the money with you to the meeting in a sealed envelope with your players name on it to the pre tour meeting on the 15th March 2011. A very good deal for four days peace and quiet.

7.   On the way home we intend to stop for lunch in Kent at a Services suggest about £7.00 and after our tour of Twickenham we will stop on the way home and again allow for about £7.00

Hope this helps the tour manage

WALK FOR FRANCE

A part of the fundraising for the Tour to France in March and attending the IRB Six nations match in Paris whilst on tour the fundraising began with a demanding sponsored walk where sponsors got serious value for the pledge. With twenty boys walking and supported by finely tuned athletes such as Mark Clemson, Mark Mansfield, David Lloyd, Jilly Sheil, and Tabatha Harding and team manager Martin Kane the walk commenced at 09.15am with Connah Harding Fly Half declaring a magnificent fund raising start of £27.00 pre payment before he had even took a step out of the car park. Starting from the club (carrying a rugby ball of course which was not allowed to hit the ground or ten press up could follow) and walking to Bryn Pydew via the Pen y Bont farm and Bryn Pydew nature reserve the group made good progress .However with many of the boys were intent on “ tabbing” or “yomping” which forces members will recall vividly a series of up hill 50 metres sprints were executed on 1 in 5 hill going up to Bryn Pydew to slow them down which worked well.

The walk continued through Bodysgallen Hall Hotel (trying not to wake to many of the guests who had paid handsomely for some weekend peace and quiet) through Llanrhos and all the way to Deganwy and to the top of the Vardre where there an impromptu game of rugby commenced. The Vardre has stunning views however for most of the boys the best view was the inside of their tuck box and the view for Mark Mansfield and Jilly Sheil Adults adult walkers was the inside of the Cilmeityn Woods yes they were lost and half an hour of the pace!.

The return leg good progress was made and the pace was increased so that the team could meet two dead lines (one to get to the next feeding station) and the second to get to the club for the Wales v Australia game. The “second food pit stop” was at Fron Farm where Mr and Mrs David and Adrianne Jones had kindly opened up their home for 20 boys who were fed warm hot dogs and sticky buns which went down a treat which .A quick dash from Bryn Pydew ensured the boys just made it for the International match at the club house at 14.30.

All in all a great day was had  and thanks to all who assisted on the day. Can all boys hand in their sponsor money please as soon as possible and not later than Sunday 14th November. If  parents are paying by cheque please make it payable to CBRFC and rounding up is always welcome

·         Programme on route home to be developed and to allow for some leisure time so as to break the journey.

As can be seen the programme is very comprehensive and this programme has been developed working in partnership with www.tours4.com  .Tours 4 Ltd are a leading children team sports organisers who run extensive team tours throughout the world and are organising this tour for CBRFC Under14s.

However in order to ensure that this 4 day tour goes to plan a substantial effort will have to be expended by the players, the parents and the team management and coaches more than what has occurred when we toured Ireland in 2008,Scotland in 2009,and Wales in 2010.This will include substantially more team fund raising by means such as sponsored walking, team bag packing in ASDA & Tesco to fund the tour directly, corporate requests for subvention, as well as adult social fund raising events in the CBRFC club house. All players and parents are required this year to assist in the fund raising so as to get the overall cost down.

Please note that we will only have about 28 playing places on this tour an all current players will be eligible. This year we may have the possibility of more adult places for those who are interested in coming with us and CRB clearance will be required.

The headline prices is at present about £335.00 however with proactive fund raising and with 7 months before we go on tour we intend to reduce the price substantially so that all players have a good time and cost is not a prohibitive measure to their rugby development.

A deposit of £100.00 will be required payable to CBRFC in cheque format only please before the 30th September 2010.Please put the name of your player on the back of the cheque please when making the payment.

Please note if all goes well we are off to Italy in 2011 by aeroplane as part of our Six Nations Touring Objective in an International Rugby Tournament.
