Sunday 15th April 2007

U8s Tag vs Caernarfon

Game 1 - Caernarfon 5 Colwyn Bay 4

Colwyn Bay travelled to Caernarfon on a warm dry Sunday morning. The pitch was a good size and allowed for a fast open game. The first game was played by the stronger, more experienced Colwyn Bay players against a physically large Caernarfon side. The match was very even with good tries and excellent tagging from both sides. The game was exciting to match with strong defensive play resulting in turnovers by both teams. Colwyn Bay tries came from Bryn Johnson, Peter Jones, Liam Weatherson and Michael Caldwell. Man of the match going to Anthony Marshall for his fearless tagging.

Game 2 – Caernarfon 5 Colwyn Bay 2

The second game allowed some the younger Colwyn Bay players to get a match. They played the same Caernarfon side whose experience and strength was too much for the less experienced Bay players. Caernarfon played well as a team and the speed of the play meant that the Bay players found it difficult to tag. However the Bay players are showing clear improvements game on game particularly William Opie, Adam Jakman and Alex Harpum who are starting to develop well. The Bay tries came from Rhodri Davies and Jordan Simmonds.

COLWYN BAY UNDER 9 TACKLE

Colwyn bay were away to Caernarfon and were led out by their captain Morgan Lumby who won the toss and  gave them possession of the ball, with a quick pass to Matthew Glenn  who managed to dodge half off Caernarfon' s team to score a try. The bay have managed to find their form, and their game was faultless with some spectacular tackling and good passing, made it a great game to watch from both sides. One of the bays tries came from a 7 meter drive over the touch line and managed to ground the ball to score. Caernarfon were a well disciplined side that managed to score 5 very good tries and kept going to the final whistle. The try scores for the bay were Aled Bysouth (1), Matthew Glenn (4), Archie Feathers (3), Bradley Reid (1), Morgan Lumby (1), and Harry Jones (2) these tries would not be possible without the support play of the rest of the team. Good effort goes to Clayton White, Ross Daniels, Oliver Roberts, Gwillym McCann, Brayden Harding, Man of the match goes to Matthew Glenn (flash) for his fancy foot work, speed and big heart. WELL DONE TEAM.

COLWYN BAY UNDER 9 TACKLE

COLWYN BAY 9    RUTHIN 3

Colwyn bay were away to Ruthin, their captain Harry Jones led them out. As soon as the whistle blew the bay got stuck straight in with some fantastic tackling managing to gain possession of the ball which Mattew Glenn took full advantage off and with some excellent side stepping and fast legs scored the opening try. Ruthin came straight back to make the score level. The bay managed to control the game and put Ruthin on the back foot, with Morgan Lumby and Joseff McAlinden both managing to steel the ball off the opposition and run the length of the pitch to score tries. At half time the score was 5-1 to the bay.

The second half Ruthin came out determined to turn the game around managing to score a try in the first opening minutes, the bay settled down and regrouped with Gwilym McCann, Bradley Reid, Ross Daniels and Brayden Harding taking control off the game for the bay with some good rucks and mauls. The bay team structure was faultless and they stuck to the game plan, which paid off. The score does not reflect on the game, Ruthin were a well-disciplined team who kept coming at the bay till the final whistle went. Archie Feathers one of our new forwards managed to power himself through four of Ruthins players and ran half the pitch to score his first try for Colwyn bay, the other try scorers were Mattew Glenn (2), Joseff McAlinden (4), Morgan Lumby (2). Man of the match was Aled Bysouth for his tackling game positioning and all-round performance

COLWYN BAY  4   RUTHIN 1

The second game was a lot closer due to lack of numbers the bay had to lend Ruthin two players who was Ross Daniels and Archie Feathers (a big thanks). The bay started of well and with some wide passes managed to get the ball out to the wing of the field where Harry Jones managed to run a solid try. Clayton White is one off the bays most experienced forward and played a big part of the game driving Ruthin back which give Morgan Lumby the opportunity to score a sneaky cheeky try. Ruthin came back with some big drives themselves led by Archie Feathers which helped Ruthin pull a try back. The second two tries came from Joseff McAlinden who was always support the ball carriers and this paid off being in the right place at the right time. The whole teams performance was outstanding and we couldn’t ask for any more, all the teams hard work in training is beginning to pay off. Man of the match was Archie Feathers for his amazing tackling, drives and good sportsmanship. WELL DONE TEAM

U8s Tag vs Nant Conwy

Game 1 - Nant 6 Colwyn Bay 5

Colwyn Bay travelled to Llanwrst to play Nant Conwy. The weather was cold but fine with little wind. Colwyn Bay always get a good, challenging match against Nant who have a strong well trained side. Bay took an early lead but Nant countered quickly to pull the scores level. The game continued this way with the scores swinging in favour of each team throughout the match. Colwyn Bay tagged extremely well – this was a huge improvement over previous performances where Bay have struggled to remove the oppositions tags. The outcome of this impressive step up in technique was that Bay managed to earn some well-deserved turn overs - special note going to Peter Jones and Liam Weatherson. Both teams were extremely strong defensively which made an exciting match to watch. The Bay team was captained by Jordan Simmons. Bay tries coming from Rhodri Davies (x2) Harri Harral (x2), Michael Caldwell and Luke Simmons

Game 2 – Nant 3 Colwyn Bay 3

A second, shorter game followed the earlier game. In this match Bay were captained by Liam Weatherson. Again, another very close game with Colwyn Bay managing to secure a draw. Tagging continued to be a strong part of the Bay defence. Tries coming from Peter Jones, Luke Simmons and Liam Weatherson.

Man of the match for these games was Harri Harral whose footwork was excellent, spinning and side-stepping out of Nant's grasp on a number of occasions.

COLWYN BAY UNDER 9’S TACKLE

COLWYN BAY 3     NEWTOWN 2

Colwyn bay was at home to Newtown (the conditions were wet under foot). The captain Bradley Reid led out the bay. This was our second match against Newtown and we new we had our hands full, the bays forwards, Archie Feathers, Oliver Roberts, Morgan Lumby, and Clayton White had to take control of the game due to conditions, the backs were finding it hard to get any good runs in due to the mud. The whole team adapted and started to drive the ball up the pitch with lots of peel of play and good passing which made up good ground. Every time Newtown gained possession the bays backs had their work cut out but with some spectacular tackles coming from Aled Bysouth, Harry Jones, Gwilym McCann, Matthew Glenn, Neve Prosser and Brayden Harding stemmed the flow of the game giving the bay opportunities to regroup. The try scorers for the bay were Morgan Lumby(1) and Oliver Roberts(2) who both put in some big runs and some excellent drives. It was a good game to watch for both home and away parents. Man of match was Harry Jones for his amazing tackles and for always being in the right place at the right time. WELL DONE TEAM

18th February 2007

COLWYN BAY UNDER 9S TACKLE TEAM

COLWYN BAY  4    PWLLHELI  6

Pwllheli travelled to the bay. Their captain Gwilym McCann led out the bay. Pwllheli won the toss and started the game off, they came straight at the bay with a strong pack of forwards, the bay were caught on the back foot and for the first six minutes of the game were defending their touch line giving the bay no room to move, during this Pwllheli managed to score three tries. The bay regrouped and kept their heads up and with grit and determination managed to score a try. Pwllheli came straight back to score making the score at half time 4-1.

The second half of the game, the bay came out with a different game plan, which seemed to work. Three of our forwards Archie Feathers, Oliver Roberts and Morgan Lumby set about blasting holes in Pwllheli' s defence, with some good pop passes and straight forward runs gathering the oppositions players, making spaces for the bay to run threw, this led to 3 excellent tries for the bay. Bringing the score to 6-4. The try scorers for the bay were Aled Bysouth (1) and Morgan Lumby (3) who also got man of the match for the Rhyl game last week.

Colwyn bays performance was outstanding in the second half coming back from 4-1 down to dominate the game, I feel that if there was more time in the game it would have been a different outcome. Man of the match goes to the whole team for an excellent all-round performance.

Colwyn Bay U8’s   2 tries

Pwllheli U8’s    10 tries

Pwllheli blew Colwyn Bay away in the first half of the first game. Some well organized play by the strong Pwllheli team resulted in some terrific ball handling with the mainly under strength Bay team trailing in their wake. There are some lessons that the Bay youngsters should take from the visitors but in true Colwyn Bay style, they stemmed the flow in the second half. Some strong running from Harry Harral and Liam Weatherson lead to the Bay putting in a stronger effort in the second half. Rhodri Davies made some impressive darting runs along the touchline and the second half ended 4 tries to 2 to the visitors. Try scorers for the Bay Boys came from Bryn Johnson and Harry Harral.  The Bay also had a try disallowed for not grounding the ball properly.

Colwyn Bay U8’s   6

Pwllheli U8’s   7

By the time the second game started the sun had warmed up the hosts which was reflected in the performance in this highly enjoyable second game. Both teams were now fluid with some great tagging coming from each. Colwyn Bay were first to score with a try from Rhodri Davies. This seemed to stimulate his team into action. The second try came from strong running and great support play culminating in a score from Liam Weatherson. Pwllheli retaliated with two scores of their own showing some of the best support play witnessed at Brookfield Drive by such young players. The half time score reflected equal passages of play at 4 tires a piece. The second half was a much tidier affair with Pwllheli pulling away with two tries. However the Bay kept their heads with 2 tries coming from Rhodri Davies, a cracking run from Josef McAlinden ending in a selfless pass to allow Rhodri in for his 3rd score. Micheal Probert could not smiling, once again after scoring his try yet it was not quite enough for the Bay to overcome the 7 tries that Pwll had put passed them.

11th February 2007

Colwyn Bay U8’s 7 tries Rhyl U8’s 4 tries

Both hosts and visitors were spoilt with a warm day of sunshine as the Bay lay welcomed Rhyl RUFC. The first of two games proved to be an open affair and each team were matched well against each other. However the quick ball from penalties proved once again, to be the deciding factor for the Colwyn Bay team. This along with some excellent passing from the bay and tremendous organisation of the line helped ease them to a 4tries to 2 first half lead. The Bay did not have it all their own way as Rhyl took advantage with some exceptional open play with two particular runs down the line which seemed to stimulate the Bay into action.  Man of the Match Josef McAlinden provided not only a brace of tries but the great support play off the ball was noted by the officials. Indeed the whole team should have been awarded the men of the match with the way they played

In the second game Rhyl came out of the blocks firing on all cylinders. They scored a scintillating try with a run down the left flank of the pitch, dancing precariously close to the touch line. Colwyn Bay responded after exerted pressure but the tagging from both teams was exceptional. Indeed this was the first time that the referee had counted two turnover plays, one for each team. Bay responded with a typical weaving run from Mike Caldwell, starting from his own line and finishing well in the Rhyl corner. Both teams had tries disallowed for either not staying on the feet or not grounding the ball correctly but this did not decry from open play with the pleasure of seeing the ball being passed so freely by both teams. A fair result of two tries apiece.

4th February 2007

U9 COLWYN BAY  3    NANT CONWY  4

Colwyn bay played away at Llangefni in a three way fixture and their first match was against a strong and well disciplined Nant Conwy. The bay was lead out by their captain Aled Bysouth who won the toss giving the bay possession of the ball.

As soon as the whistle went to start the game, both teams got stuck in with some spectacular tackling; this made both sides having to work hard to gain possession of the ball. The forwards were setting up some big drives and gaining possession of the ball, which was passed out to the backs but due to the tackling we were hitting a wall of defenders. The first try came from one of the bays big forwards Oliver Roberts who managed to smash his way through the defence and ran half the pitch to score the first try. Nant came straight back with some excellent passing and some good support play gaining them an equalising try. The dying minutes of the first half Nant Conwy put the bay under pressure by scoring a second try. The bay came out in the second half and was not fazed by this and stepped the game up leading to Oliver’s 2nd try which was supported by Morgan Lumby and Bradley Reid. Matthew Glenn was true to form and with his fast feet and sidestepping managed to find gaps and score. Both sides put in a great performance, which was exciting for all to watch. At the final play of the game the score was 3-3. The bay were at Nant s touch line and were tring to ground the ball but Nant stood their ground and managed to steel the ball with a great miss pass to one of the backs managed to find some space and ran the length of the pitch to score the final try of the game. This was a great team effort and everyone was involved. WELL DONE TEAM.

U9 COLWYN BAY  8    LLANGEFNI  2

The second game the Bay was up against Llangefni, due to injury and lack of numbers the Bay had to lend them some players. It was a different game altogether, the Bay was well organised and all their plays were paying off with tries coming from Brayden Harding(1) Aled Bysouth (2) Morgan Lumby(4)  Oliver Roberts (1) and Ross Daniels (1).They were not giving Llangefni any room to move as soon as Llangefni gained possession they were tackled, and the bay was turning the ball over. There was some excellent tackling coming from Harri Jones, Gwilym McCann, Neve Prosser and Clayton White, Jacob Rogers. It was a big day for Archie Feathers who for his first time got his boots dirty for the bay (would not of thought it WELL DONE)Man of the match for both games for his all-round performance which was outstanding goes to Oliver Roberts.

Bangor U8’s 6 Colwyn Bay U8’s 14

Colwyn Bay youth team took the scenic route to Bangor on a cold and crisp February morning. With the sun’s warmth aiding in their preparation whilst they waited for their hosts the Under 8’s took advantage to put some training into action.  This bolstered their on field performance and in the first of 2 games they took control with some dynamic play. Of note were Anthony Marshall, for his searching runs which helped him secure a brace of tries, Luke Simmons for his courage in taking tags from the Bangor team and Liam for scoring 6 tries.  All this was a tribute to the team for taking heed of taking quick ball and some superb support play. This is what contributed to the election of Josef ….being confirmed Man of the Match. This was his reward for seizing the opportunities of scoring tries (celebrated by his trademark “fly-by” mimicry) but also for his consistent “tagging and support play.

The second game proved to be a challenge for the next group of Colwyn Bay Under 8’s. Hampered by a string of strong and commendable weaving runs from the Bangor team, the Bay were having to fight from a 4 try to nothing score line within the first quarter of the game.  However fuelled by the determined spirit that is now evolving within the team they fought back.  And what a fight back the spectators were to feast upon. Consistent support play from Bryn ….. who buddied up on a number of occasions with William were a joy for the coaching staff to see. Sterling work from Alex … and a first try for Michael (who couldn’t stop grinning) were acknowledged. However a special mention must go to new boy Peter …..A turn of pace which stunned most of his team mates and one of the best “tags” to have been taken that morning, with a cross field chase culminating in a stupendous dive to grasp the Bangor attacking players’ tag, 10yards from the Bay’s try line was, well, quite awesome. This was not enough to stem the Bangor Boys but the 9 tries to 8 tries was a justifiable score that should encourage this up and coming team.

The bay turned out in full strength .Adam Jakeman led the team out winning the toss giving the bay possession of the ball, the bay set up a perfect attacking line and with a long miss pass gave the ball to Rhodri Davies who managed to run home the bays first try. There was a lot of good passes and excellent defences skills from both sides. The bay just had the edge on the attacking which led to an 8-2 win for the bay. Llangefni had the bay on the back foot several times but the bay had answers for all their attacks and managed to turn the game round and score tries from lose balls. Under 8 tag team

Colwyn Bay hosted the match against Denbigh on a bright but windy Sunday morning. Both teams arrived with large squads, which meant that two games could be played.

4:4 draw

The first game comprised the stronger, older players. Tries were traded by both teams in an exciting and even match. Colwyn Bay showed good team discipline and supporting play with impressive defensive tagging throughout the match. At half time Denbigh lead 3:2. In the second half Colwyn Bay continued to show determination and defended well, creating some good opportunities. The final score was 4:4 with Bay tries coming from Liam Weatherson, Joseff McAlinden, Michael Caldwell and Rhodri Davies. Man of the Match was captain Sion Edwards for his overall effort and good tagging.

3:7 loss

The second game allowed the younger players to have a run out. It was here that the Denbigh squad showed its strength. Colwyn Bay struggled to cope with the speed shown by the Denbigh team and found it difficult to get the tags. However the team worked well together with good supporting play and passing which created space for some creative runs. The final score of Denbigh 7 Colwyn Bay 3 didn’t reflect the good performance that the Bay put in. All three Colwyn Bay tries were scored by Harry Harral, who made the most of the opportunities created by the team. He was named Man of the Match

COLWYN BAY UNDER 9S TACKLE

COLWYN BAY  9    DENBIGH  7

Colwyn bay were at home against a strong Denbigh side. The Bay new that it would be a close game and had to get stuck in from the off with Matthew Glenn’s first touch of the ball ran half a pitch to score a try, Denbigh came straight back to equal the score. Both sides were well matched on their tackling so any tries scored were well achieved. The second try for the Bay came of Harri Jones who also put in some amazing tackles and played a blinding game. The dying minutes of the first half saw the bay driving Denbigh back and with a sneaky move the ball was passed out to Ross Daniels who shock off a couple of the defending side to score a try taking the Bay 4-2 at half time.

The second half the Bay put out 3 new players for their first time Bradley Ried, Matthew Petricolo, and  Gwilym McCann from the way they performed you wouldn’t of known it was their first match. WELL DONE. Denbigh came out with a different game plan which seemed to work pulling the scores 6-6. The Bay weren’t fazed by this and stepped up a gear with a great try coming from Morgan Lumby who also did some excellent drives. The final try was scored by Aled Bysouth who played a big part of the game. Man of the match goes to Matthew Glenn for his all-round performance who was chosen by the Denbigh side. Good effort goes to Oliver Roberts, Neve Prosser, Daisy Edwards, Jack Thomas, Jacob Rogers, and Clayton White

WELL DONE TEAM.

UNDER 8S TAG MATCH

COLWYN BAY 10   LLANDUDNO 7

The bay were away at Llandudno, and the team were led out by their captain Brayden Harding. As soon as the game started Llandudno came charging at the Bay and managed to steal the ball, and with three good passes scored a try, this served as a wake up call for the Bay, who responded with some fast passing and a good run, bringing the score to 1-1 this made it an exciting game with both sides defending and attacking. By half time the Bay were 1 try ahead but could not relax because Llandudno were playing such a fast game and were not making any mistakes. The Bay stepped up their game and made some powerful runs threw the centre of Llandudno’s defence which put Llandudno under pressure. This was a turning point for the Bay who played an excellent game.

Llandudno U9 vs Colwyn Bay U9

Colwyn Bay were not warmed sufficiently by the autumn sun to stop a strong and impressive Llandudno team in the first of 2 games.  Although Llandudno had pressed their advantage on a number of occasions through a gruelling first half with some electrifying breaks, Colwyn Bay improved in the second half to ensure a closer contest. Of particular note were Harry Morgan – Williams for his trademark hard tackling, Daisy Edwards for her darting runs and Oliver Roberts for his forward drives.

The second game was a far more equal contest.  The continuous thumping tackles from Harry Morgan-Williams coupled with some equally forceful hits from Morgan Lumby ensured that the Bay were not going to be a pushover the second time round. Matthew Glenn showed some inventive running with more and more supportive play from the team as a whole. Oliver Roberts showed huge determination, with 3 opposition players clinging to his shirt tails he shoved over for a typical forward try thus cancelling out Llandudno’s first try. His spirit earned him the respect from the opposing team. The second of the Bays tries came from a cross field run from Neve Prosser having demanded the ball with a very loud call from a drive, again supplied by the forwards. The Bays heads were lifted with a third try from Mr Lumby, which brought the teams level once more but with minutes to go Llandudno’s enterprise stole 2 breakaway tries from what looked like strong mauling positions from the Seahorses. Congratulations were given to both teams for their standard of play. Man of the Match for Colwyn Bay was always going to be a tough decision for the coaching staff, but for the sheer determination of Oliver Roberts, who captained the team, the award was given to him.  The team spirit and the manner in which Colwyn Bay took the game to their local rivals, especially in the second game, should give them pride.

Under 8 tag team

COLWYN BAY 4    BANGOR 4

Bangor played the bay at home it was a well balanced game both sides pressing forward but the bay were 3-1 a head going into half time. The three tries were scored by Rhodri Davies. The second half Bangor came out determined to even the score and just kept running at the bay which seemed to pay off as they managed to pull level. The bay had some good breaks which gave Brayden Harding the opportunity to score a try but Bangor came straight back and ended the game at 4-4. The man of the match was Rhodri Davies for his try scoring and long runs.

COLWYN BAY 7   BANGOR 8

The second game the Bay put out a lot of new players but you wouldn’t of thought it due to the speed and structure of the team. It was a faster game they was a lot of tries coming from both sides. The try scores for the bay were Jordan Simmons(4) Michael Probert(1) Adam Jakeman(1) and for good defending skills we would like to mention Harry Harral and Ryan Foxall. Man of the match was Jordan Simmons for his all round performance.

Under 9 tackle

COLWYN BAY 7   BANGOR 9

Bangor turned up with a mixed under 9/10s team which gave them a big sized team but the bay went out there and took the game to them. The bay put in some amazing tackles and managed to steal the ball on several malls which was very impressive. Bangor piled  the pressure on with their big forwards but the Bay stood their ground and at one stage they drove Bangor back at least half a pitch to score a try. Neve Prosser and Daisy Edwards put a big effort into the game. The try scores for the game was Oliver Roberts(2) Matthew Glenn(3) Joseff McAlinden(1) and Harri Jones(1). None of these tries wouldn’t have happened without the support of Clayton White, Brayden Harding, and Jacob Rogers, The captain of the game was Matthew Glenn who did an excellent job of leading the team forward. The man of the match was given to the whole team for their all round performance and big effort. It was a very good game to watch and every one enjoyed it WELL DONE TEAM

Under 9 tackle

Colwyn Bay showed determined effort against a big and powerful Pwllheli under 9’s team.  If the game had been scored on tackles alone the Bay side would have strolled it but unfortunately the tries all came from a well-drilled Pwllheli team.  Excellent tackling from Gwilym McCann along with Matthew Glenn was the markings of Great Spirit and courage and it was this from which the youngsters should take encouragement. Support for the man with the ball gained momentum as the game progressed but this game taught the team some important lessons that will need to be taken on board for the eagerly waited derby with Llandudno in the next couple of weeks.

Under 8 tag team

Meanwhile the Under 8 tag team had equally as tough a time as the Under 9’s. In the first of 2 games some terrific running from “H” – Harry Jones produced great rugby with quick feet and side-steps which helped his team mate Joseff McAlinden to go over the line and then another try from Brayden Harding.  Concerted pressure from Pwllheli caused the away team to leak a couple of tries but a further try from Ryan Foxhall and a second by Joseff McAlinden allowed the Bay back into the game. A fourth try by Liam Weatherson was not quite enough to stop Pwllheli to a 6-5 win but it was a very encouraging game from both teams that will aid them for the next fixtures.

In their second game, there was some great tagging from Josef, showing the way and of note was superb effort to Adam Jakeman, on his debut.  The game ended 6-5 to the home team.

Under 8 tag team

Colwyn Bay 4  Rhyl 0

The under 8s played away at Rhyl. The boys came out in good form from the start, with good communication and ball handling which denied Rhyl of any opportunities to score against the bay. The bay kept Rhyl on the defensive for most of the game but Rhyl did very well stopping the bay from scoring a lot more tries. Jordan Simmons did an excellent job of captaining his team to victory. The try scorers were Brayden Harding(3) and Luke Simmons(1). Man of the match was Brayden Harding for keeping the pace of the game high and making some big runs.

Colwyn Bay 4  Wrexham 1

The second game was against Wrexham and the bay was still fired up from beating Rhyl and scored a try within minutes, but Wrexham was no push over as they had just beaten Rhyl quite convincingly. The bay kept their heads and with lots of good passing they were able to make  good breaks leading to tries. Anthony Marshall played a big part in setting up these tries and scoring one himself, that’s how he got man of the match, the other three tries were scored by Harri Harral(1) Liam Weatherson(1), and Michael Caldwel(1). It was a good team effort. Bryn Johnson and Michael Probert played a big part in helping  the bay to two wins

Under 9 tackle

COLWYN BAY 2   RHYL 5

The bay was away to Rhyl, and when the game started both sides were evenly matched with the forwards dominating the game with some big drives from both sides and lots of tackling, it made it an exciting game to watch. Making it two all at half time. The second half was pretty much the same until the dying minutes where Rhyl just seem to have fresher legs and piled the pressure onto the bay and some how managed to score three more tries. The captain for the bay was Ross Daniels who also did some excellent runs. The try scorers were Harri Jones and Morgan Lumby who was also man of the match for his all round performance. The team is improving with every match WELL DONE TEAM keep it up.

UNDER 8 TAG

COLWYN BAY 6   MOLD 5

The Bay played at home against Mold. Mold put out a well prepared side that had good pace and plenty of ball skills. The game was tit for tat from the offset with plenty of good forward play from both sides. The score would have been a lot greater against the Bay if it wasn’t for the defending skills of Jordan and Luke Simmons. The captain of the Bay was Liam Weatherson who played a good role by scoring two tries for the team. The other try scorers were Luke Simmons(2) Harry Harrel scored two, and for his all-round performance gained him man of the match.

COLWYN BAY 4 MOLD 6

Colwyn Bay was under pressure from the word go and they were fighting to keep control of the game. Mold relentlessly kept coming forward . The Bay was dealing with the pressure and got stuck in the score at half time was 4-2 to Mold. When the Bay was lead out by their captain Michael Caldwel in the second half they managed to pull back two tries but Mold kept on the attack and scored a further two tries. The try scorers were Harry Harral(2) Luke Simmons(1) Brayden Harding(1). Man of the match was Luke Simmons.

UNDER 9 TACKLE

COLWYN BAY 0   MOLD 9

Mold came out with all guns blazing catching the Bay of guard which lead to 3 easy tries for Mold, that woke the Bay up and turned the game into a battle. No matter how hard the bay pressed forward Mold held them off inches from the touch line. Mold kept on scoring but the Bay were not going to give in and made Mold work hard for every foot of that pitch with plenty of good tackling and passing. The Bay showed great spirit and love for the game. Well done team.

COLWYN BAY 5   MOLD 3

The second game saw the Bay come out to win and got stuck in to a fast and exciting game with good tackling from both sides. The Bay put Mold on to the back foot and with a lot of forward play they managed to get their first try, but Mold came right back to level the score.
